Who We Are
Business is about people. The products, the buildings and even the money are just tools that we use to practice our trade or operate our business. TresTerra was started by Ed Benjamin and Mike Fritz, both long time bicycle guys who got interested in electric bicycles in the mid 90’s. They have made this their professional focus since.
Ed Benjamin has been a consultant in the LEV industry since 1996, a speaker at major trade shows, and the author of many reports, articles and co-author of a book on the industry. Ed was VP Light Electric Vehicles at WaveCrest (twice!), and President of EV Rider for a short time. Before that, he was primarily a bicycle retailer since 1969.
Mike Fritz has been VP Product Engineering, Light Electric Vehicles at WaveCrest, VP Product Development at EV Global, VP Engineering Research & Development for Brunswick Bicycle, VP Product Development Pacific Cycle, Director of Engineering for Schwinn Bicycle Company. He is the most experienced LEV Engineer in North America.
Ed and Mike have witnessed and participated in the birth of a new industry – Light Electric Vehicles / Electric Bicycles. And the beginning has been a struggle as many companies enter the market, many products have been created, and most have failed. As a result of this experience, Ed and Mike have a solid conviction that Human Electric Hybrid two wheelers have an important future in the USA. They believe that the correct product, combined with appropriate support and constant improvement can succeed here. Calling upon their many contacts and friends in the LEV industry, Ed and Mike have designed both a winning product, and a winning business practice. Ed and Mike also operate CycleElectric International Consulting Group (www.CycleElectric.com). CycleElectric provides design, engineering, business relationship, and information services to the world wide Light Electric Vehicle Industry.
Ed and Mike make the following promises to their dealers and customers:
* We will use our experience and skills to provide the most functional products (in the terms of our customers) that we are able.
* We will provide honest and factual information and answers to questions from both dealers and consumers.
* We will under promise and try hard to over deliver.
* We will make mistakes. And we will correct them.
* We are in this for the rest of our careers.
